About Pamela

  • Named Pamela for my wonderful Aunt Pam, a fellow booklover.
  • Romance reader since 7th grade.  All sorts – from paranormal & urban fantasy to historicals & regencies.  Special fondness for RevWar romance, steampunk, westerns, or any book where the hero wears buckskins.
  • I read other books too.
  • Erstwhile art historian.
  • Love epistolary novels and fascinated by Samuel Richardson’s original Pamela.
  • Also chauffeur for my 5th grade twins, and I have a day job at a local university founded in 1636.
  • Turning 50 this year (!!).
  • Go, Red Sox!

Aha! That is fabulous! Explains the Woodiwiss kinship! Did you read Anya Seton, Jean Plaidy, et al? Let’s hear it for 1963 babies 🙂

Miss Bates didn’t read any of those lovely writerly ladies. Miss Bates lost about 30 years of romance reading to forgettable literary fiction. She never regrets the classics though. When the romance fiction renewal was burgeoning, she spent a whole summer reading JANE EYRE over & over again & watching all the versions of it ever made.
May the Powers That Be grant you a long & fruitful life … and much blogging success, whenever The Turn (to 50) may be.
